The National Lotteries Board,
after noting in the media Uthingo Management’s comments that they will not pay
prizes after their licence to operate the National Lottery expires on 31 March
2007, made an urgent application to the High Court for Uthingo Management to
fulfil their obligations in terms of the current licence.
After hearing arguments from
both parties, Judge Preller issued an interim order that Uthingo Management must
continue to pay prizes until the matter could be fully heard.
